Mala Strana / The Little Quarter

Mala Strana, The Little Quarter, is the area of Praha on the on the west side of the Vltava (west of Kampa). Hradcany (Prague Castle) is located atop a hill in Mala Strana and hundreds of shops, restaurants, embassies, etc, are scattered about it's environs.

We stayed at U Tri Pstrosu, The Three Ostriches, a nice hotel in Mala Strana near the Charles Bridge. Hear are a few pictures of the place.

Our hotel room had some nice views too. Here are a couple.

The Charles Bridge's west tower.

The Charles Bridge's west tower again.

Tram lines and intersections in Mala Strana.

Here's a typical street in Mala Strana: cobblestones and old buildings tightly spaced.

While traveling up this street (shown above), I thought I saw an unusual looking entrance leeding to a strairway.

I did. I did see a stairway.

There I am in that secret stairway passage.

That [hidden] stairway leeds to this more-public one - which links the castle to the rest of the Little Quarter.

Here's a view of the rooftops from atop the castle-bound stairway.
