I was at the World Economic Conference in Switzerland and there
was a formal dinner with the Japanese ambassador in an hour and I
didn't have any tie, but I had this nylon string rope from
Eastern Mountain Sports, so I quickly crocheted this thing and it
worked. So always pack some string because you never know what
you'll need next.
There's no knot. This little thing is held down with nail polish,
but if you pull it out, the whole thing turns back into string
because there are no knots, which is handy. So you could make a
different tie. Or a belt. Or a bracelet. Or a bulletproof vest.
