College Compass is a web-based system that helps students and researchers manage their academic careers. Students can select and schedule courses that meet any number of personal and departmental constraints. An expert system component alerts the user of any academic deficiencies for the courses selected.
Future versions of College Compass will include mechanisms for rating courses, recommending courses based on ratings and interests, recommending personal constraints, finding and rating academic publications related to a given research area or course, and buying and selling books through the Kasbah system.
